Today is Father's Day here in the states, so happy father's day to any father reading this(i doubt there are any fathers reading this, considering 95% of my blog followers are women, but anywho). While at church this morning, i thought about an interesting topic that i have been wanting to post about for awhile now: marriage.
Question to my Married bloggers: What traits do you think single women should be looking for in a man? How did you know that you found the "One?"
Question to my Single(if you are not married you fall in this category) bloggers: What traits are you looking for in your future husband?
Please feel free to answer honestly, because i think married people can teach the single maiden alot, and singles ladies can learn from other singles.
Good day all, If you haven't realized it by now, let me be the first to let you know: I'm a homemade kinda gal. Sooooooo, today i bring you a Natural hair removal procedure that is very simple. This procedure is called Halawa and is brought to you from the Middle East.
What you need: Brown sugar Lemon Saucepan Clean cotton fabric and Water
Instructions:
Take 10 tablespoons of brown sugar, the juice of half a lemon and a tablespoon of water. Then, mix all the ingredients in a small saucepan and set on the stove to heat over high heat for 20 minutes.
Make sure to stir the "Halawa mixture" every five minutes so it doesn't clump in the pot or burn.
When the "Halawa mixture" has turned into a caramel brown color, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool to a temperature that is acceptable to you. IT SHOULD be warm and have the consistency of golden syrupy honey.
Don't allow it to cool too much or it will go hard.
Take a bit of the Halawa syrup with a small spatula and evenly distribute it onto an area of your skin. To facilitate the process, you can also use strips of clean cotton fabric for the Halawa hair removal(simply lay them on top of the paste).
Wait a few seconds and then tear off the strips with a sudden sharp movement. Make sure that you go against the direction of the hair growth.
Good day all. Like i discussed yesterday I'm making new plans for March and beyond because I want to be productive. I've decided to put it in writing. I did similar things like this when i was in school which has been all my life(lol).
First, I plan on making a liberal plan for each day the night before. That way i have goals and and are more likely to achieve them.
Mental- Have a goal to read a book(gifted or bought that i have not read) and finish it by the end of the month. Substitute online T.V. movie time for this. At least one hour of reading(this is huge cause i haven't been a fan of physical reading in a long while now).
Spiritual- First thing in the morning(before ever opening up my computer) have morning devotion. I am currently using solo: An uncommon devotional and it's pretty amazing, totally recommend it.
Physical- Workout at least three times a week for 1 hour. Focusing on running and exercises that increase my heart rate. Run at the very beautiful park near my home or officially join that really cool and expensive gym near my home.
Emotional-hmm i'm not sure yet. Oh i know...Work on my Chizzy D book(yep i have one, its a pretty cool personal scrapbook). Being as creative as i want, writing poems, songs, drawing things i want to sew up, just digging in the book and being creative whenever i'm feeling down.
Good day all, The title of this post pretty much sums up how i have been feeling about the internet lately. Yesterday, here in the good ol' United States, my neighborhood lost electricity for a couple of hours(thank you NEPA). I have no idea why, all i know is that i felt free. SERIOUSLY and i even wanted it to last longer. My macbook has been connected to me as though it's my child for like twoyears now. Granted i do take breaks from it once in awhile. Although technology is awesome, and i'm not going to list of all the ways here because everyone knows them, it kinda detaches you from "LIVING,"which is what i'm really focused on doing these days.
Anyways, i wrote this post especially to the people that follow my blog. I may or may post on a daily or weekly bases, i may or may not comment or see your lately post, but whenever i'm on here i will do my best to connect with my blogger fam.
Question:I really want to be introduced to new music. Can you suggest any artist or bands/qroups for me to check out.
Good day all, I would like to start off by letting you know that i failed. I failed failed failed at my goal of doing the ten day Master Cleanse Detox. When i say i failed, what i really mean to say is that i was only able to do this thing for 3 full days( 72 hours). I'm still proud of my three day record though.
Why did I do Master Cleanse Detox
I have been struggling for a while now to go back to being a 100% (healthy)vegan. I really wanted to do something that would shock my body into craving to be feed super healthy foods. Did it work YES!! So i guess i really didn't fail after-all, since that was my reason for doing it anyway.
Results from my 3 day cleanse
Um, well the cleanse didn't do what i thought it would do, cough cough "cleanse" anything out of me the whole three days. This is another reason i stop at three days. I lost 14 pounds(seriously!!!). In three days i lost 14 pounds, thats crazy stuff. I'm not a big girl so losing more than 14 pounds would not be healthy for me(another reason why i had to stop).
Conclusion
Because there was no "cleansing" going on, I don't think i will do this specific cleanse ever again. I'm glad i did it though because since i stopped (over a week now) i've successfully gotten back to my super healthy vegan ways(which is hard considering the region of the world i live in).
Good day all, I'm currently on Day 3 of my master cleanse and have to say that day 2 was HARD. I have a feeling Day 3 will not be any better, i'm thinking of reducing the cleanse to 5 days though, we will see. Ok so i've been doing loads of research on the best foods for my body. I was researching milk and milk alternatives and came across this useful information that i wanted to document and share.

So this week, starting from today Monday 01-17-11, i will be doing a ten day detox. I've been wanting to do the Master cleanse for quite a long time now.
What is Master Cleanse?
The Master Cleanse is a way to cleanse the body. The cleanse involves drinking only a concoction made from fresh lemons, grade B maple syrup and cayenne pepper, as well as herbal tea. No solid food is eaten for the entire cleanse.
You use this thing to squeeze out fresh lemons
My fav tea cup plus everything else i bought
For people in good health, the body is designed to eliminate normal everyday toxins from itself through the lungs, kidneys, liver, and other eliminator organs.
How it works:
The cleanse takes at least 10 days (up to 40 days, the period of time that Jesus fasted after his baptism, as Burroughs points out).
The only nourishment that you take is a special lemonade concoction made from the Master Cleanse ingredients: lemon juice, maple syrup, cayenne pepper, and water, six to twelve glasses per day, each glass containing about 110 calories in sugar carbohydrates.
An herbal tea is drunk at night and a quart of salt water is drunk first thing in the morning, resulting in several liquid bowel movements every day — you need to always be near a toilet when you do this cleanse, and you need to stock up on toilet paper.(bhahahahhahaha)
You come off the cleanse by transitioning to solid food over a few days, ideally becoming a raw food vegetarian in Stanley Burroughs’ version of the cleanse.(Back to my vegan ways)
Grade B
What you need:
Pure Filtered Water(I'm using regular tap water)
Grade B Organic Maple Syrup, Formaldehyde free(got it)
Organic Cayenne Pepper (got it)
Organic Lemons(got it)
Sea salt - Unrefined, (Not iodized) or Epsom Salt(bought some sea salt)
Good day, Here is a list of some interesting films that will help explain the way Food works in the United States. You will be shocked what you see, maybe not. You may think these films are exaggerating things, take it from me, they are not. I interned TWICE with a very major food company, the company is mentioned in some of these films. I also have classmates that interned with some of the other companies.
Good day all, You may not realize it, but what you put in your mouth plays a huge role in your physical, mental, and emotional health. More and more people in the United States are starting to understand how the food in our local grocery stores is killing us. About four years ago, i started questioning what goes into my body, where it comes from, and the ACTUAL effect it has on my body. As a result, I started by only eating Organic foods, which lasted about a year. My health got alot better, i got sick less that year. About a year and a half later, i became a vegetarian(who ate seafood). Then months later i became a Vegan pescetarian. I was that until this summer in Asia, i was forced to go back to being a vegetarian because of the environment that i was in. When i was a Vegan pescetarian i was the healthiest i had ever been in my life. I didn't get sick that year, which is rare. My skin was VERY clear and i felt healthier.
After returning from Asia i thought it would be easy to return to my Vegan pescetarian ways, but it wasn't at all. I tried but kept failing. This battle was harder than when i decided to stop eating MEAT seriously. During the month of November, i failed miserably. It was the final weeks of school and went bad food crazy, i mean cake like every other day, cookies, chips, soft drinks(keep in mind i hadn't eaten these types of food in years.) The only thing i didn't do was eat meat. I think it was the stress of school that made me go crazy. My face is broken out like crazy, i got sick multiple times in the last six months, and i don't feel healthy at all, forget the fact that i have gain about 15 Ibs. Bad food in this country is like struggling with SIN, it keeps tempting you and alot of the time it wins. Sad. Good news though, just like sin, if you pray and have a plan in place, you can be victorious when temptation does (and it will) shows its ugly face. I am not waiting until New year's to start being healthy again, i feel awful, i started this week.
To people outside the states, do whatever possible to avoid American food.
*More on healthy living later* If you have an questions, let me know.
I think this can only be seen in the United States, if you live here and cherish your life, watch the documentary below.
Definitions: Vegetarianism is the practice of following a plant-based diet including fruits, vegetables, cereal grains, nuts, and seeds, with or without dairy products and eggs. A vegetarian does not eat meat, including: red meat, game, poultry, fish, crustacea, shellfish, and products of animal slaughter such as animal-derived gelatin and rennet.[1][2] There are a number of vegetarian diets. A lacto-vegetarian diet includes dairy products but excludes eggs, an ovo-vegetarian diet includes eggs but not dairy products, and a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet includes both eggs and dairy products. A vegan diet excludes all animal products, including dairy products, eggs, and honey. Vegetarianism may be adopted for ethical, health, environmental, religious, political, cultural, aesthetic, economic, or other reasons. Semi-vegetarian diets consist largely of vegetarian foods, but may include fish and sometimes poultry, as well as dairy products and eggs. With these diets, the word "meat" is often defined as only mammalian flesh.[3][4] A pescetarian diet, for example, includes "fish but no meat".[5] The colloquial application of the word "vegetarian" to such diets has led vegetarian groups, such as the Vegetarian Society, to clarify that such fish or poultry-based diets are not vegetarian, due to the fact that fish and birds are animals.[6]
