Good day,
Welcome to my new blog, I'm glad your here, look forward to your contribution.
Sooooo....So much is going on in my life. I will be graduating this December by the grace of God. I have applied for sooooo many jobs and have been interviewing for jobs as well. This process is alot harder than i thought it would be. I always thought i would get a job in my field easily because in the past semesters, students(in my field) that had resumes that looked like mine got plenty of job offers. I am now REALLY aware of how bad the US economy is.
I have no idea where i will be, or what i will be doing come January. At first this really scared me, then i got a tad depressed cause being rejected over and over is kind of a self-esteem blow. Now i'm at the point where i see this situation as a blessing because it is forcing me to depend on Christ alone.
Last week on Friday, ridiculousness happened that had me messed up for some days. Twin sisters (International students from India) that were my exact age and were also set to graduate this December with Masters degrees in Chemistry, got in an accident coming back from an Indian wedding. A car hit them from the back. One of them died that night in the hospital and the other twin woke up a couple of days later to realized that she is paralyzed from the shoulders down. They have not told her that her twin is dead. I started envisioning the accident over and over in my head and what the family may be going through for many day. A couple of days ago, I realized what i was doing was not healthy and decided to pray for the family every time my mind wanted to replay the events.
That situation reminds me of a banner i have on the left side of this page that reads: "Dream as if you'll live forever, Live as if you'll die today."
Here's my remixed version of that quote: " We have all been diagnosed with a terminal illness(called: our bodies will fail one day illness) so why not decide today to make sure everyday is not wasted. Application: " Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands i have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."Matthew 28:19-20
Pray request: That God's will(not my will) be done come January.
Question: Have you been at point where you did not know the next step? What did you do?

My dear sister, yes I have been at a point where I didn't know what to do. Infact it was just July 4, 2009 when I had to close down my direct marketing business in the city after almost seven years. It wasn't an easy decision infact I was left with very little choice either to die or surrender my life completely to Jesus.
For a moment I asked God to let me die then I changed my mind and said you have worn just do whatever you want with me. I am too tired to keep fighting my own battles in this uncertainty world and in life.
It was very difficult for me, not having a business or a job to go to. I haven't been out of work ever in my entire life have always worked and especially for myself.
On October 18th something beautiful happened to me when I first walked into Kharis Ministries in Camberwell- London. Every question, every doubt, every worry and every uncertainty I felt inside of me had completely vanished and instead I felt this peace and calmness in my spirit. Just then I knew I had found my church and where I belonged, I had come home where my next journey will begin.
Chizzy, the long and short is, my life hasn't been the same how I survived everyday; paying my bills, living has been a miracle. I had no money cos my business was closed down because I was broke. For the first time the scripture in Matthew 6:33 but seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. For the first time in my life that scripture came alive in my life in every possible way. Whilst indeed I have been seeking Him first, putting everything else aside and just getting to rebuild that personal relationship with Jesus and getting to know Him better and understanding what His promises for me meant and the plans He has for me.
Until we can surrender our heart completely to Jesus, trusting Him solely by being obedient to His word by applying His instructions it is very difficult to see His promises fulfilled in us. God is a very principled God, and every promise of His comes with a condition and instructions to follow, His love for us is standard no matter how disobedient we have been He never stops loving us but to attain everything He has purposed for our lives we need to spend time with His word, studying and knowing it for ourselves, by applying it which helps the growth of our faith.
All I can tell you is get busy for Christ, by serving in your local church, find ways to honour your Pastor and just a good solder for Christ every way possible. Jesus came to serve not to be served for us to be like Him we have to have a servant’s heart in every sense. Spend time with the word trusting Him completely for He says in John 16:33, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Be encouraged my sister with God all things are possible just learn to trust Him without any plan B’s. I have recently started a new business after been out of work for 14 months straight. Praise be to God!
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
@enyonam...thx you so much for that. Actually serving in a local church was something i decided i would do when i moved out of my university. Since school i have not been really involved in a church(though i was very active in a student ministry). I'm looking forward to the time of rest where i can serve, bc i do LOVE to serve. I have applied for many Many jobs and programs, some have said no, some are still pending. I just want God's will be happen bc his will is always the best.
Chizzy, absolutely God will and God will is for you to move Him with your unreserved trust and faith in Him to receive what has been destined to you through His grace. I know we have all heard lots of teachings on how in God's own time. Actually God's time is now sis. You can wait, but God can't be moved without Faith. He waits for us to act on the word He has given to us to realise all the blessings. Is like me sending you a a registered parcel, for you to receive it you will have to sign for it to take delivery of it.
When you read Mark 5:31-34, "You see the people crowding against you," his disciples answered, "and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?"
But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it.Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering."
Now I want you to take a second look at this scripture more carefully. There were mulititude of people but when this woman touched Jesus He felt it and knew someone had touched Him. She did just touch Him, it was her faith that made her whole. Now this same Jesus went to His hometown and He couldn't do any miracles not because He was short of power but because of lack of their unblief (faith).
Girl, there are so many truths in the Bible we need to explore in order to activate our faith otherwise we will pray and pray and wait for God to move when He is waiting for us to act on His word by faith. The bible says, it is impossible to please God without Faith.
Ephesians 1:3, Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Key word here, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings so why do we have to wait for Him? He has already blessed us with everything, all we need to do is to act on His word by faith to make it a reality in our lives.
I am really getting so excited, but I will share our faith serminar message with you once we have finish the first two.
bless you,
Enyonam
